Rosemont, PA| The Ravens Welcomed the Gywnedd Mercy Griffins to Alumnae Hall for The Last Season Opener for Rosemont College.

How it Happened: 

Starting for the Ravens was #1 Zaki Gomez, #2 Ty Jones, #3 Chris Taylor, #4 Brandon Moore, and #13 Tyler Scarpulla.

    Rosemont would win the tip to start the 2025-26 Ravens Basketball season. Both teams would start with early turnovers on the opening possessions. The Griffins would get on the board first but Zaki Gomez would respond for the Ravens with a three assisted by Ty Jones to give Rosemont an early lead. Gomez would have the Ravens first five points as they fell behind early to the Griffins 5-16. Ty Jones would cut into the Griffins lead scoring six consecutive points for the Ravens. Rosemont would maintain the ten point deficit through the first half trailing by as many as fifteen before Chris Taylor would cut into the lead before the half as the Ravens trailed 36-24. 

    Coming out of the half, the Ravens would cut the Griffins lead to eight as Ty Jones and Brandon Moore both would find mid-range buckets. Rosemont would be held scoreless for 5 minutes until Dallas Wilder would break the drought on a fast break. Zaki Gomez would cut the game back to ten points as the Ravens defense stepped up and forced multiple stops in a row. The Ravens fought hard through the second half, but the offense could not get shots to drop shooting only 30% as a team. Rosemont would fall to the Griffins in Alumnae Hall 46-70.

Your Ravens will be on the road this upcoming Wednesday, November 12th at 7:30pm versus Haverford College. The game will played in the Gooding Arena on Haverford Campus. Goo Ravens!
