Bryn Mawr, PA | The Lady Ravens Welcomed Cedar Crest College to Alumnae Hall for an United East Match-Up in Alumnae Hall.
How it Happened: Starting for the Ravens was #04 Da'nasijah Wise, #05 Mojisola Shokeye, #11 Lakay Holloway, #13 Aniya McDaniel, #24 Olivia Hamme.
The Ravens offense got off to a slow start as Cedar Crest took a 7-1 lead early in the first quarter before
Mojisola Shokeye would make a layup assisted by
TeKira Knox-Wagner.Â
Olivia Hamme would make a jumper with a minute remaining in the quarter as the Golden Eagles led the Ravens 15-6.
In the second quarter the Ravens found their groove on offense going 3-3 from three point range. Closing in on Cedar Crest lead the Ravens moved the ball well, having five different players score in the quarter. A seven point quarter for
Lakay Holloway would boost the Ravens within two points before Cedar Crest would make a three going into the half Rosemont trailed 23-28.
Coming out of halftime, Coach Farnese's defensive changes held Cedar Crest to only 13 second half points and four made field goals. The Ravens would have another strong third quarter offensively as Holloway and Shokeye combined for 15 points giving Rosemont an one point advantage going into the fourth (38-37).
Mojisola Shokeye would open up the fourth getting to the foul line extending the Ravens lead early. Swarming defense by the Ravens, forcing contested shots and turnovers,
Aniya McDaniel would respond to a Cedar Crest jumper with a jumper of her own. This would give Rosemont a three point lead with six minutes remaining. Phenomenal defense by both teams as Cedar Crest would make a deep two pointer with :34 remaining in the game. Shokeye would close out the game for the Ravens as Cedar Crest was forced to foul, making 3-4 Free Throws to win in Alumnae Hall 45-41.Â
Rosemont was led by Mojisola Shokeye with 16 points and 6 Rebounds followed by Lakay Holloway with 15 points and 9 Rebounds.
