Ravens (5-10) lose the series to Nationally Ranked Penn State Harrisburg
Ravens lose game 1 23-4 in 7 innings
Zach Nutley started on the mound for the Ravens, going 3 innings. Freshman Nicholas Fratangelli took the mound in the 4th, followed by Justin Harrison, and Larson Greenlee.
Offensively, the Ravens put up 6 hits and 4 runs. In the 4th inning, David McKinney scored on a passed ball. Samson Gerner had an RBI single to give the Ravens their second run. Next, Shane Lennon had a sacrifice fly to score Jamen Palladino. The last run of the inning came from a Chase Masten RBI double scoring Gerner.
Ravens lose 21-15 in game 2
Jack Lally took the mound for the Ravens tossing 4 innings while giving up 6 earned runs. It was all hands-on deck as Collin McCarron, Tyler Monzo, Carson Pence, Brett Angelillo, Nick Vitale, and Lennon came out the bullpen in game 2.
The offense fought hard in Game 2 as the ravens had a 7-4 lead until the 4th inning. In the second inning, McCarron and senior catcher Chris Walton each had a 2 RBI single. Fellow senior David McKinney followed that up with an RBI triple. Jamen Palladino scored the 7th run of the inning for the Ravens with a sacrifice fly scoring McKinney.
In the 6th inning, the Ravens would tally on another 4 runs as 4 consecutive baserunners scored on wild pitches. In the 7th, the Ravens would add on another 4 runs. Luke Franklin started things off with a 2 RBI triple of his own. In the next at-bat, Franklin would score on a wild pitch as well. Lastly, Gerner had an RBI single to give the Ravens their 15th run of the game.
Head Coach Ross Trachtenberg had this to say after the game: "I am proud of how our team competed in Game 2 for the full 9 innings. Chris Walton was impressive behind the plate throwing out several runners. Our bull pen of Tyler Monzo, Carson Pence, Brett Angelillo, Nick Vitale and Shane Lennon went 3.1 inning in tough conditions to keep us in the game."
