Rosemont Softball Battles Versus Penn College on the Road

Williamsport, PA | The Rosemont Ravens Softball Team Traveled to Williamsport to take on The Penn College Wildcats at Elm Park for a Double-header this past Saturday. 

How it Happened:

Game One: Starting Pitching for the Ravens was #12 Josie Krieman.

Kendyll Strohl would walk to lead off the game for the Ravens but would be left stranded at second to end the top of the first inning. Penn College would score with two outs in the bottom of the first to take a 0-1 advantage over Rosemont. Great pitching and defense by both sides through the second and third inning held the score 0-1. In the top of the fourth inning Olivia Hamme would reach on a error by the Wildcats, followed by a Bailee Greise single would put two runners on for the Ravens with one out. Rose Chando would reach on a fielders choice as a throwing error would score Hamme tying up the game 1-1. The Ravens would leave two runners on to end the top of the fourth. Penn College would respond in the bottom of the fifth inning with a sacrifice fly to take the lead 1-2. Penn College would hold onto the one run advantage through seven to capture the win in Game One over the Ravens.

Game Two: #32 Caitlin LeGreca would Pitch for the Ravens in Game Two.

Chando would have a strong start for the Ravens starting the first two innings scoreless. In the top of the second inning Rose Chando would double with two out for the Ravens but would be left stranded to end the inning. The bottom of the third inning, Penn College would score on a fielding error by the Ravens giving the Wildcats a 0-1 lead. The Ravens offense struggled to find production down the stretch as Penn College tallied on one run in the fifth and two in the sixth inning. In the top of the seventh, the Ravens would have one last effort as Olivia Hamme would reach on a fielding error but unable to bring her home the Ravens would fall to the Wildcats in Game Two 0-4.

What's Next:
The Ravens will be back on the Road this Tuesday as they take on Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, PA starting at 3pm. Go Ravens!
