Ravens (5-5) fall to Albright College (5-3) in extra innings
The Ravens (5-5) lose in heartbreaking fashion 7-5
Junior Jack Lally started on the mound for the Ravens for his third start of the season. Lally went 7.0 innings, striking out 8, while giving up 0 runs, 6 hits, and walking just 1. In the 8th, Justin Harrison came in relief giving up 1 run.
Offensively, the Ravens tallied 9 hits with 3 from Luke Franklin and Nolan Dunn a piece. The bottom of the first was executed perfectly for the Ravens. Franklin had a leadoff double, Chris Walton had a sacrifice bunt, and David McKinney scored Franklin on a sac-fly. In the bottom of the 4th, the Ravens would make it a 2-0 ball game thanks to a 2 out walk and stolen base by Samson Gerner, and an RBI single from Dunn. The bottom of the 7th saw the Ravens pull away with a 5-0 lead over Albright, thanks to an RBI from Nick Skoufalos, Franklin, and Walton.
Starting pitcher Jack Lally had this to say after the game: "Definitely a tough and frustrating loss. The guys battled, but sometimes the game doesn't always go your way. It's baseball, it's a game of failure and what comes with failure is opportunity. We'll bounce back and take advantage of our next opportunity."
Senior short-stop Luke Franklin recorded 7 assists and 2 putouts to go with his 3 for 5 day at the plate. He said after the game: "It was a tough loss today. I think we had our best all-around game this season today. Jack Lally threw a gem, and our defense played great all game. Unfortunately, just weren't able to close it out against a talented Albright team."
