Brett Angelillo took the mound on Tuesday afternoon at host Delaware Valley University and tossed a complete 9-inning game. Angelillo scattered 5 hits while striking out 6. Just two days prior, fellow senior Zach Nutley threw a 9-inning complete game.
After the win, Angelillo had this to say: "Today was a great day for Rosemont Baseball. We've been playing all around awesome baseball. Let's bounce back and keep the wins coming."
Offensively, the Ravens took the lead early and never looked back. Senior short-stop Luke Franklin had an RBI in the 3rd to put the Ravens on the board. In the 6th, senior catcher John Woods had a 2 RBI double followed by a Collin McCarron sac-fly. Senior captain Bobby DiDonato plated the fourth run of the inning when he reached on error. In the 8th, DiDonato collected another RBI, as did fellow senior Samson Gerner when he drew a bases loaded walk. In the 9th, McCarron plated another run and DiDonato collected two more RBI as well.
Head Coach Ross Trachtenberg stated after the game: "I am so proud of the way Brett pitched today. Brett has appeared in more games than any other pitcher in our program's history and today may have been his best performance of them all. A 9-inning complete game win on the road was a huge lift for our team."
