Rosemont, PA| The Rosemont Ravens Welcomed the Cheyney University Wolves to the Hirsh Community Center for a Non-Conference Matchup.
How it Happened:
The Ravens got off to a slow start on the first set,
Pearl Smith would get the Ravens on the board with a kill assisted from Mikayla Moffatt. The Wolves would build an early lead on the Ravens as
Lori Shorten would find a late kill but their efforts were not enough as the Ravens fell 6-25.
The second set, Cheyney would get out to an early lead before Rosemont would go on a 7-2 run to tie up the game. A serving run by
Mikalya Moffatt would bring the Ravens within two before stellar defense would tie the game for the Ravens. The wolves would pull away in the middle of the set but a late run by the Ravens would pull them back into the set. A run led by
Jana Ehnot and
Pearl Smith would bring the Ravens within five late (17-22) but Cheyney would pull away to secure the set.
In the third set, Rosemont would get out to an early lead thanks to excellent serving
Mikalya Moffatt. The Wolves would be quick to respond with a run of their own to build a lead over the Ravens. Rosemont would not give up as Kills from
Pearl Smith and
Brianna Porter would keep the Ravens in the match. Their efforts were not enough as Cheyney captured the final set 15-25.
