Bryn Mawr, PA| The Rosemont Ravens Welcomed The Cairn Highlanders to Alumnae Hall For an United East Matchup.
Starting for the Ravens was #01 Zaki Gomez, #02 Ty Jones, #05 Robert Sukaly, #11 Jaylen Mason and #12 Tyler Jackson.
How it Happened:Â
Zaki Gomez came out the gates hot for the Ravens making his first three shots from the field to give Rosemont a 7-5 lead over the Highlanders. Cairn responded with a 9-0 run to,
Brandon Moore would stop the run followed by another bucket by Gomez to bring the Ravens back within three. Rosemont and Cairn went back and forth, trading the lead though the first half.
Ty Jones drove in for an and one followed by a
Chris Taylor layup to give Rosemont a one point lead. The two would continue to make shots through the end of the half; The Ravens trailed 33-34 at the end of the first half.Â
Coming out of the half,
Robert Sukaly gave Rosemont a lead on a backdoor cut assisted by
Tyler Jackson. Three's started to rain for Cairn as the Highlanders took an early second half lead.
Tyler Jackson and
Ty Jones responded to bring the Ravens back within one.
Brandon Moore would spark the offense with another and one opportunity and Rosemont used the momentum to build a lead as
Chris Taylor matched his teammates energy getting to the line for his own and one.

With the Ravens leading 51-47 and ten minutes remaining, both defenses intensified, forcing tough shots and turnovers. The Ravens gaurds did a phenomenal job of rebounding, taking away opportunities for the Highlanders coming down the stretch. The offense went cold; Trailing by nine with three minutes remaining,
Brandon Moore got to the line, followed by a layup by
Zaki Gomez to bring them within five. The Highlanders held on down the stretch 68-61 but Rosemont held their heads high not giving up at any point during the contest.
Rosemont was led by
Zaki Gomez and
Ty Jones both scoring 15 points, combining for 12 rebounds.
Brandon Moore and
Chris Taylor also made a large impact off the bench, scoring nine a piece and playing great defense on the other end.Â

Rosemont will be on the Road this Saturday January 17th as they travel to Penn State Abington. The game will tip off at 1pm as the Ravens look for their second United East win.Â
