Ravens Get Win Number One in Sunday Series Versus Marywood

Philadelphia, PA| The Rosemont Ravens Traveled Back to LaSalle University to Take on The Pacers of Marywood University.

Game One:
Alex Raush got the start on a cold windy Sunday, allowing one earned in the first. The Ravens rallied in the bottom of the inning as Chase Masten led off with a single, followed by a walk from Joe Bentivegna. Brandon Peake moved the runners over with a sacrifice bunt, and Gary Kroll drove in a run on a ground out. Bentivegna scored on a past ball to tie it at two runs to end the first inning.

Raush got hit around a little in the second and third bringing in Yassine Zekkaria to make his collegiate debut. Masten was able to get on wearing a inside pitch to reach first, follow by a Bentivegna single to put two on with one out. Gray Kroll would come through with two outs for the Ravens with an RBI single to cut the deficit 6-3.

Zekkaria got through the fourth unscathed as Rosemonts bats caught fire in the bottom of the inning. Brody Lykes led off with a single followed by a walk from Tahj Wilson. Lykes was caught trying to take third, but that did not slow down the Ravens. Isaac Bugman ripped a double into the gap, followed by a walk by Masten to load up the bases. Bentivegna came through with two outs for an RBI single to bring Rosemont within one run. Peake would reach on an error, scoring Masten and forced a pitching change for the Pacers. Kroll would reach on another error to give the Ravens a 7-6 lead headed to the fifth inning.
Soloman Denmark would come in two on and one out in the fifth, walking his first batter to load the bases. Denmark was able to force a grounder to third, the Ravens defense turned the double play and got out of the jam.

Greenlee came in to start sixth inning, allowing one to tie the game. Rosemont rallied for Lars as Masten led off with another single, followed by a single from Bentivegna. Peake would drive in Masten with a RBI single followed by another RBI for Kroll to extend the Ravens lead. Brody Lykes was able to drive in another run for the Rosemont expand their lead to three, bringing in the closer Patrick McCallister. McCallister forced soft contact on all three batters trusting his defense giving Rosemont their first win of the year 10-7 over the Marywood Pacers.

"Big win for team. We kept fighting until the end and won us a ball game. Everyone did their jobs and we came out and played good baseball." - Senior Chase Masten after reaching in every at-bat Game One. 

"Glad to get a win under our belt, and glad some of the freshman got to get out there for the first time and gain some experience. " - Graduate Student Alex Raush after his first start of the season.

In Game Two: 
Anthony Galli got his first start for Rosemont as they set off for the final game of the series. A clean first inning set up the Ravens as Masten stayed hot leading off with another single, but they were unable to drive him home.

Galli got through the second allowing just a run, but the Raven's bats went cold. Galli would get through three innings, allowing three runs, bringing in Gisella Schiano to make her debut for the Ravens in the fourth. Schiana had a clean fourth, striking out a batter looking and forcing weak contact trusting her defense.
    
The fifth got away from Rosemont as they allowed six, giving the Pacers a 10-0 advantage. Rosemont did not give up.Trailing 15-0, Bugman singled with one out putting runner on. Masten followed with a walk, and a double steal by the Ravens put runners on second and third with two outs. Zekkaria drove in two runs for his first collegiate hit with a single to the right side. Gary Kroll followed with a single, and a double steal by Kroll and Zekkaria scored another for Rosemont. Tahj Wilson pulled a double off the left-field wall to score Kroll but it was not enough as Rosemont fell to the Pacers in game two 15-4. 

"Having my first college outing under my belt feels really great and just overall an amazing feeling. I was super nervous going into it but once i got out there all I had to do was trust myself and do what I love to do." - Gisella Schiano after her Rosemont debut.

What's Next? 
Rosemont wil be on the road as they take on the Ursinus Bears on the road this upcoming Wednesday March 4th. First pitch is set for 3:00 PM at Thomas Field.
