The Ravens Earn the Non-Conference Split on the Road at Neumann

The Rosemont Baseball team traveled to Aston to take on the Neumann Knights in a non-conference doubleheader. The Ravens lost Game 1 8-1 but bounced back to take the second game 11-8.
Graduate student Alex Rausch got the start in Game 1. He went two strong innings, allowing just 1 run and striking out 1. The Ravens' offense struggled to get any traction until the 6th inning when they plated their only run of the game. Sophomore Issac Bugman led off the inning with a single. Terrell Robinson and Gisella Schiano drew walks to load the bases for Brody Lykes. On a 2-2 pitch, Lykes was hit by a pitch to plate the lone run of the game.
The Ravens' offense got on the board in Game 2 in the first inning. Freshman first baseman Tahj Wilson singled in Bugman, after Bugman reached on a single of his own. The story of the game was about sophomore southpaw Anthony Galli who went 6.1 innings as the starting pitcher. He surrendered runs in the 2nd and 3rd before pitching three scoreless frames in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings. Freshman Gigi Schiano closed out the bottom of the 7th retiring the last two batters on a strike out and a pop up. Offensively, Bugman and Wilson were joined by freshman Caiden Spinelli to each collect two hits in the game. Wilson also knocked in 4 runs.
After the games, Head Coach Ross Trachtenberg had this to say: "I couldn't be prouder of this team. They competed for 14 innings today after 14 innings of baseball last night, and I am so glad they earned the win in Game 2."
The Ravens take the field next on Tuesday, April 21st against Cairn University in a United East Conference match-up. Game time is 3pm at Heuser Park. Come support the Ravens on Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day at the park.
