ROSEMONT – The Rosemont volleyball team faced the Neumann Knights at Alumnae Hall this evening and came away with a 3-0 loss (25-12, 25-9, 25-14). The loss for the Ravens put their overall season record at 2-21 (1-8 CSAC). The Knights, who have already clinched a CSAC playoff spot, moved to 19-9 on the season and remain undefeated in the conference with a 9-0 record.
The Knights handed the Ravens at arm's length for much of the first and second sets, but the Ravens held their own in the third set before Neumann put the match away.
Leading the Ravens tonight was Leilani Carter with seven kills on eight total attacks. Morgan Rollins had three kills and Eve Romanowski had two for Rosemont. Taylor Gasperi had five digs and Romanowski four to lead the Ravens in that category.
With 136 kills this season, Romanowski requires 25 more kills in the Ravens' two remaining games to break her own mark for kills in a season, currently standing on 160.
With 300 assists this season, Lexy Mrongowius needs 18 more assists to break the Rosemont record of 317 assists in a season.
The players will get their next chance on Wednesday, 10/29, when they travel to play the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins for a 6:00pm game before completing their season on Senior Day, Saturday, 11/1, against Notre Dame of Maryland University.
