Ravens Win Conference Opener Over Gators

ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Ravens broke open a close game early on, running out to a 46-26 lead at the half and eventually won their CSAC opener over the Gators of Notre Dame of Maryland University by a score of 87-52. The win was the first for Rosemont's new Head Coach Rayne Reber and improved the Raven's overall record to 1-3 (1-0 CSAC). The Gators are now 1-3 (0-1 CSAC).

Coach Reber had ample opportunity to rest her starters as all players in a Rosemont uniform got playing time in tonight's game.

The Ravens had five players reach double-figures in scoring, led by Leilani Naone-Carter's 14 points. Also scoring in double-digits for the Ravens were Dominique Sellers (12), Jasmyn Parker (11), Nymira Nelson (10) and Brianna Macauley (10). Olivia Crenny led the Ravens with 10 boards.

Sellers also had a massive eight steals in the game.

Rosemont forced a massive 30 turnovers from Notre Dame and shot 44% from the field compared to 35% for the Gators.

The Gators' Zaria Comer had 18 points and Allyson Whitacre 15 points on the night. Comer had a double-double with 12 rebounds.

Liz Coyne scored 9 points with 8 rebounds in the game, and now has scored an even 1,700 points in her Rosemont career. She needs 29 points to become Rosemont's all-time leading scorer.

Will that happen in the team's next game? The team will see in their next game on Sunday, 11/30 when they host the Arcadia Knights in a non-conference game at 2:00pm.
