ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Ravens broke open a close game early on, running out to a 46-26 lead at the half and eventually won their CSAC opener over the Gators of Notre Dame of Maryland University by a score of 87-52. The win was the first for Rosemont's new Head Coach Rayne Reber and improved the Raven's overall record to 1-3 (1-0 CSAC). The Gators are now 1-3 (0-1 CSAC).
Coach Reber had ample opportunity to rest her starters as all players in a Rosemont uniform got playing time in tonight's game.
The Ravens had five players reach double-figures in scoring, led by Leilani Naone-Carter's 14 points. Also scoring in double-digits for the Ravens were Dominique Sellers (12), Jasmyn Parker (11), Nymira Nelson (10) and Brianna Macauley (10). Olivia Crenny led the Ravens with 10 boards.
Sellers also had a massive eight steals in the game.
Rosemont forced a massive 30 turnovers from Notre Dame and shot 44% from the field compared to 35% for the Gators.
The Gators' Zaria Comer had 18 points and Allyson Whitacre 15 points on the night. Comer had a double-double with 12 rebounds.
Liz Coyne scored 9 points with 8 rebounds in the game, and now has scored an even 1,700 points in her Rosemont career. She needs 29 points to become Rosemont's all-time leading scorer.
