RADNOR, Pa. – In CSAC action this afternoon, after a close start the host Cabrini Cavaliers (9-6, 6-2 CSAC) pulled away after the first six minutes of play to claim a 103-70 win over the Ravens (5-3, 7-8 CSAC). The loss snapped Rosemont's four-game overall winning streak and five-game conference winning streaks.
With the Ravens trailing 13-11 with 14:02 left in the first half the Cavaliers stepped on the gas, outscoring Rosemont 30-9 to take a commanding 43-20 lead with 4 ½ minutes left in the period. Cabrini would extend their lead to 55-26 going into the break.
The Ravens played much closer to Cabrini in the second half of the game, outscored 48-44 in the frame, but the 29-point deficit at the break was too much for the Ravens to overcome.
Marcus Thomas led the Ravens with 20 points and Dyshon Pack added 13. Nadir Stukes led Rosemont with seven rebounds.
The Cavaliers put six players in double-digits led by T. Monroe's 19 points and 21 caroms and Jair Green's 18 points. Aaron Walton-Moss had a triple-double for Cabrini, scoring 10 with 10 rebounds and 13 assists.
The Cavaliers doubled-up the Ravens in rebounding (58-29) accounting for 50 points in the paint and 31 second-chance points. The last time the Ravens gave up over 100 points was in a 109-97 shootout in a loss to the Cavaliers on 2/25/2014 in last season's CSAC Semifinal game.
The Ravens hope to turn things around on Monday when they will host the Baptist Bible Defenders in the second game of a CSAC doubleheader. The men's game is scheduled for an 8:00 tip-off.
