HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Rosemont College volleyball team took the host Centenary Cyclones to a fifth and deciding set, but came up short by a set count of 2-3. Centenary won the match (25-20, 23-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-8) to move to 3-12 (2-4 CSAC). The Ravens dropped to 1-16 (1-6 CSAC) with the result.
The nail-biting wins by Rosemont in the 2nd and 3rd sets featured a total of 16 tie scores and eight lead changes.
The Ravens were credited with seven blocks against none for Centenary, but the Cyclones were able to claim 36 service aces in the match. Leilani Carter did her part at serve, scoring eight aces. Nadirah Anderson led both teams in blocks with three solos, kills with 15, and led the Ravens in digs with 11.
The Ravens return to the court in Alumnae Hall on Saturday, 10/17, when they will host a tri-match with Summit and Notre Dame. The first match (Rosemont vs. Summit) will start at 11am. The Summit vs. Notre Dame match is scheduled to start at 1pm, and the Rosemont vs. Notre Dame match is scheduled to start at 3:00pm.
