How It Happened

The Rosemont women's volleyball team could never get it going tonight, as they fell to Penn State-Abington in straight sets at Alumnae Hall.

In the first set the Ravens fell into an early 3-0 hole, before climbing back into the set at 5-3. Unfortunately for Rosemont that was as close as they would get as Abington went on a 20-4 spurt. The Nittany Lions used runs of 7-0, 4-0 and 6-0 to take the set 25-7.

In set number two the Ravens fought harder and tried to get back into the match taking an early 2-1 lead. Abington would then answer right back with a 13-1 run to build up a 14-3 lead. Rosemont would try to pull things back using a 7-1 run to get to within 19-13, but Penn State would the use a6-2 stretch to take the set 25-15.

The third set the Ravens would appear more competitive as they jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead, before pushing it to 5-4. However the Nittany Lions would go on a 10-1 run to take a 14-6 lead. Rosemont would get as close as 16-10, before Penn State-Abington would take the set and the match 25-14.
