Ravens Fall To Pacers In CSAC Play

Final Results

SCRANTON (Birchwood Tennis Club)- The Ravens made the long trip to Scranton this afternoon to square with the Marywood University Pacers. Rosemont earned two points in the team score, but ultimately fell to the host Pacers by a final of 7-2. With the loss, the Ravens fall to 0-5 overall (0-2 CSAC), while Marywood improved to 1-5 and 1-2 in CSAC play.

Singles:

Rosemont dropped five of the six individual matchups, however bright spots came from Luis Castillo and Nick Tortorella. In second singles, Castillo defeated the Pacers' Steve Price in a tiebreaker. The Ravens lost the first set 2-6, but came back hard in set number two, winning 6-1. That sent the match to a tie-break where Castillo was victorious, 11-9. Tortorella had a nice day in singles as well. Despite losing the match he pushed it to a tiebreaker as well. Losing set one 2-6, he stormed back to take set two 6-3 before succumbing in the bonus tennis, 10-6.

Doubles:

The Ravens took one of the three doubles matches via a walkover. The other two contests went to Marywood and they left the courts with a 7-2 team win.

Up Next:

The Ravens are scheduled to be back in action tomorrow (4/1) when they host the Gwynedd Mercy University Griffins at 1pm (weather permitting).
