Ravens Fall One Point Shy Of First Win Versus Giants

Final Results

LA PLUME- The Rosemont men's tennis team seemed primed to get their first win of the 2017 season, but ultimately the rally fell short as the Keystone College Giants defeated the Ravens by a final of 5-4. With the loss Rosemont dropped to 0-11 overall (0-7 CSAC), while the Giants improved to 1-9 and 1-6 in the CSAC.

Singles:
James Finney was victorious in 1st singles defeating Keystone's Colin Franko by scores of 6-4 and 6-4. Luis Castillo held his own in 2nd singles winning the first set 7-5, but dropping set two 6-1 and getting upended in the tiebreaker by a margin of 10-6. 3rd and 4th singles also went the way of the home team taking both in straight sets. The fifth individual match of the day between Rosemont's Kaushik Dhanyamraju and Keystone's David Richards belonged to the Ravens in consecutive sets (6-0, 6-1). The Giants took the final singles match, winning in two sets.

Doubles:
Rosemont took two of the three points that were up for grabs. The pair of James Finney and Luis Castillo beat Keystone's Dan Greenip and Colin Franko by a decision of 8-6. Second doubles went to the birds as well with Kaushik Dhanyamraju and Nick Tortorella earning an 8-6 win as well. The last doubles match belonged to the Giants    2-8.

The Ravens will be back on the courts in search of win number one on Tuesday, 4/18 when they host the Bryn Athyn College Lions at 3:30pm.
