Ravens Come Close Against Lions

Final Results

ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Rosemont Ravens showed their continued improvement this season, but they succumbed to the visiting Bryn Athyn Lions by a 5-4 match score. The Ravens now hold an 0-12 record for the season while Bryn Athyn moved to 1-4 on the season. The Ravens have just been edged out by the 5-4 match score for the 3^rd time in their last five matches.

Today, the Ravens did their job in the singles matches, winning three of the six flights. Luis Castillo (#2 flight) and Nick Tortorella (#3 flight) both won their matches in a tie-break. Kaushik Dhanyamraju, won his 2nd straight singles match after recently returning to the team. He dominated in the #5 flight, 6-1, 6-1.

Unfortunately for Rosemont, the Lions jumped out to a 2-1 advantage in the doubles matches. The #2 flight for Rosemont proved to be winners as Tortorella and Dhanyamraju shut out their opponents, 8-0.

The home-and-home series between the two programs ends tomorrow when the Ravens travel to Bryn Athyn to complete their season. The non-conference match is scheduled for a 4:00pm start.
