Cassel spurs second half run as Ravens win third in a row

LANGHORNE, Pa. – It wasn't the typical formula for success.
After all, getting more than doubled up on the offensive glass by an opponent and outrebounded by 13 isn't exactly ideal.
Ending up down double figures early in the second half isn't exactly good, either.
But the Rosemont Men's Basketball team is starting to find that drama can work to their advantage. And they are never really out of any game they are in.
The Ravens went on an 13-0 run midway through the second half to overcome a sluggish first half shooting performance and earn a gritty 71-62 win at Cairn University Wednesday night in a Colonial States Athletic Conference contest in Langhorne.
That's three wins in a row for the Ravens and four out of the last five games, including two in the row on the road. They moved into a tie with Neumann for third place in the CSAC standings with Keystone – who was postponed on Wednesday night at Gwynedd-Mercy due to the poor weather in the upper part of the state.
The big offensive star of the night for the Ravens was Nasir Cassel, who scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Fifteen of Cassel's points came in the second half as he lead the Rosemont run from down 13 points (34-21 at the 18:54 mark of the second) to grab a 45-38 lead at the 12:34 mark of the half after an Alex Epps-Ortiz 3-pointer.
Mekhi Clemons also added 11 points in the win – the only other Rosemont player to break into double figures. However, the Ravens shot 55 percent from the floor in the second half to key the comeback.
Rosemont is back at Alumnae Hall on Saturday afternoon, playing Centenary in the back half of the men's-women's doubleheader that starts at 1 p.m.
