ROSEMONT, Pa. --
Jasmyn Parker continued her torrid scoring pace on Saturday. It wasn't enough, however, to keep Rosemont's women's basketball team's three-game winning streak going.
Centenary used a balanced scoring attack and a huge mid-game stretch to beat the Ravens 88-79 Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference contest at Alumnae Hall.
The Ravens were unable to clamp down on the Cyclones defensively. Centenary shot 56.5 percent from the floor from the field and went to the foul line 43 times on the afternoon, hitting 35 of them at a blistering 81.4 percent margin. In contrast, the Ravens only got to the line 17 times, hitting on 12.
Parker- who earned CSAC Honor Roll honors for the second straight week last Monday- could be a strong candidate for player of the week honors this coming week. She scored 22 points to lead all scorers and was one of five Ravens to break into double figures. She shot 4 of 7 from beyond the 3-point line.
Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter scored 14 points,
Ayanna Thompson and
Kira Lewis added 12 while
Leilani Naone-Carter contributed 10 to the effort.
Centenary was lead by Rachel Edwards, who scored 20 points and hit on 11 of 12 foul shots on the afternoon. Amber Reisenwitz chipped in 19 while Nicole Cartaino and Julie Pankowski added 17 for the Cyclones.
Rosemont (11-6, 5-3 CSAC) heads back on the road on Wednesday night when they face Notre Dame of Maryland. They return home next Saturday afternoon to play CEdar Crest- one of three home games remaining on the Ravens schedule.
