ROSEMONT, Pa. -- There are different ways to join the 1,000 point club.
Jasmyn Parker did it with a flourish.
The senior guard entered Saturday needing just four points to become the ninth player in Rosemont history to join the exclusive club. She scored a career-high 30 points on 12 of 16 shooting in the Ravens 90-39 win over Cedar Crest College Saturday afternoon at Alumnae Hall.
Parker is now the eighth player in Rosemont history to score over 1,000 points. And with five regular season games left and at least one post-season game possible, the Coatesville native could end up moving up the list of Ravens scorers before things are finished.
Parker broke the mark with just under four minutes remaining in the first quarter, hitting a long two-pointer from the right corner for her fifth point of the afternoon. After that, things exploded. Parker connected on her next seven shots from the floor- including five from beyond the 3-point line- to break her season-high of 27 set against Eastern Mennonite University on Dec. 17.Â
Parker's 1,026 career points now just 41 points shy of sixth place on the all-time Rosemont scoring list behind Andrea Krysick, who graduated in 2000 with 1,067 points.
As for the rest of the Ravens, all 10 players on the roster ended up in the scoring column.
Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter and
Kira Lewis each scored 10 points as the Ravens shot 34-for-65 (52.5 percent) from the floor and 8-of-14 (57.1 percent) from beyond the 3-point line.Â
Shawn Dowd and
Leilani Naone-Carter each grabbed eight rebounds. Dowd also added five assists on the afternoon.
The Falcons were lead by Geminni Cabrera and Semeca Thompson, who both scored nine points while Meghan Gregory grabbed 10 rebounds.
Rosemont now heads out on the road on the next two games, starting at Immaculata on Wednesday night before heading to Clarks Summit next Saturday afternoon. They will return to Alumnae Hall on Feb. 7 for Ravens Spirit Night against Neumann University
