HAVERFORD, Pa. -
Basil Thompson shattered his career high in points with a dominating 34 point effort on 12 of 18 shooting from the floor as Rosemont broke into the win column for the first time in the 2018-19 season with 85-69 victory over Haverford Saturday at Gooding '84 Arena.
Thompson, who scored 16 points twice last season at St. Francis (Pa), scored 25 points in the second half to help Rosemont (1-3) pull away from the Fords. Thompson grabbed eight rebounds and contributed a steal and an assist to the victory.
Jalil Myers had 19 points and five rebounds despite the fact that he only played 18 minutes because of foul trouble.
Jacob Simonson was the other Ravens player in double figures with 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor.
Jesse Turkson was the leading scorer for Haverford, adding 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor.
The Ravens are back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to nearby Cabrini from the Atlantic East Conference. It was the Cavaliers who knocked the Ravens out of the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs in the semifinals a season ago.Â
