WILLIAMSPORT - An MVP performance from
Ashley Murray and a season-high 15 points from
Shirle Brown propelled Rosemont's women's basketball team to a 62-52 win over Rutgers-Newark during the championship game of the Hoops For Hounds Holiday Tournament on Sunday afternoon at Lycoming College.
Murray was named the tournament MVP for her two day effort which allowed Rosemont to post its first tournament win.
Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter also was named to the All-Tournament team
KEY MOMENT: It was a 11-1 run late in the  second quarter - keyed by Brown,
Ka'Ryne Benson and Angel Hicks- that allowed a close game to get broken open and proved to be the deciding moment in the contest.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
-Murray scored 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds on the afternoon. In six games that the Ravens have played in tournament this season, Murray is averaging 17.3 points per game along with 12.6 rebounds. She has double figures in points and rebounds in all six tournament games.
- Brown matched her season high with 15 points on Sunday. It's her fifth time in double figures in scoring this season.
- Benson had 10 points in 11 minutes off the Ravens bench.Â
-Â Naone-Carter had nine rebounds and 8 assists Sunday.
UP NEXT: The Ravens are back at home on Thursday night when they host Neumann in the final non-conference game of the season. Rosemont will rejoin its Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule on Jan. 8 against Cairn at Alumnae Hall.
