ROSEMONT, Pa. -- Add some hot opponent shooting together with some really lax defense on the perimeter and you have a recipe for disaster.
Rosemont's men's basketball team found that out the hard way on Wednesday night.
Neumann shot the lights out of Alumnae Gymnasium in the first half, building up a big cushion and never looking back during a 98-77 win over the Ravens during a highly anticipated Colonial States Athletic Conference contest.
The Knights shot 67.7 percent from the floor and 10-of-14 from beyond the three point arc. On the flip side, Rosemont shot 16-of-35 (45.7 percent) from the floor and 4-for-11 from beyond the 3-point line. The end result was a 57-40 Knights advantage at the half that pretty much determined the ballgame from the jump.
Neumann was lead by Aaron Johnson-Chavis, who scored 20 along with Isaiah Wilmore, who added 20 off the bench. They were two of five Neumann players to break double figures, with Billy Cassidy (19), Tyaire Hudson (15), Jordan Collins (12) also chipping into the cause.
Rosemont was lead by
Mekhi Clemons 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting.
Charles Presley had 19 and
Jalil Myers had 11 points with four rebounds.
Rosemont (14-8, 9-6 CSAC) travels to Cabrini on Saturday afternoon.
