ROSEMONT, Pa - On "Ravens Rally Night", there was no reason for Rosemont's women's basketball team to rally.
Playing from the front virtually the entire night, the Ravens rolled to an eighth straight win and 11 out of the last 12 to stay perfect within the Colonial States Athletic Conference with a 91-46 win over Cairn before a packed house at Alumnae Hall.
Four different Ravens broke into double figures with
Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter scoring a game-high 20 points while
Ashley Murray had 17,
Jayme Byers had 16 and
Ayanna Thompson had 12 points.
KEY MOMENT: After the Highlanders had kept it close in the first quarter, the Ravens exploded for a 17-7 run in the second that saw them hold Cairn to just 17 percent from the floor in the 10 minute quarter. Overall, Rosemont was able to exert its will, holding Cairn to 29.5 percent from the floor, 18.8 percent from beyond the 3-point line and a 51-37 rebounding edge on the glass.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The 20 points by Naone-Carter was her second time this season breaking the 20 point barrier. She had 23 in a win over Juniata on Dec. 22 at the beginning of this win streak for Rosemont.
- Murray finished with 18 rebounds- a new season high. It is the 11th time this year that Murray had double figures in rebounds. It is also the 10th double double (ponts and rebounds) she has in 16 games.
- Thompson had 10 assists- her most this season. Â It was the seventh time she had broken into double figures in scoring.
- Over the last six games, Byers is averaging 12.5 points a game.
