ROSEMONT, Pa. -- Not even the weather can beat the Rosemont Ravens women's basketball team right now.
In a game moved up to Friday night to avoid the potential winter storm that is rolling into the Delaware Valley over the weekend, the Ravens jumped out early and never looked back during a 74-47 win over Clarks Summit in a Colonial States Athletic COnference contest at Alumnae Hall.
That's nine straight wins for the Ravens, 12 out of the last 13 games and a perfect 8-0 in the CSAC standings as the league schedule reaches the halfway point.Â
KEY MOMENT: It was another strong first half that allowed the Ravens to put things in cruise control early. Rosemont- going to their bench early and often in this one- jumped out to a 45-13 lead at halftime due in large part to a stifling defense that only allowed the Defenders to 4-for-13 shooting in the first half.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
-
Ka'Ryne Benson scored 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the floor.Â
-
Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter had 14 points with five rebounds and four assists. That puts Naone-Carter just 16 points shy of becoming the ninth player in Rosemont history to score 1,000 points.
-
Ayanna Thompson and
Ashley Murray had seven points. Murray collected eight rebounds while Thompson added five assists.
UP NEXT: The Ravens are off until Tuesday when they will travel to Baltimore to face Notre Dame of Maryland. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
