ROSEMONT, PA- The Rosemont Women's Volleyball team fought hard in their loss to Gwynedd Mercy University. The final score was 0-3(13-25, 22-25, 13-25).
The Ravens started the first set off strong with two big kills from
Angel Ricks and
Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter, however the serve-receive seemed to be an area that was difficult for the Ravens. Service aces and some kills from the Griffins put them in the lead to win the first set 13-25.
The second set was the most competitive of the three with twelve ties and seven lead changes. Kills by
Angel Ricks and
Abigail Brooks on top of the aggressive play by
Alyssa Springer really kick started the energy of the Ravens and allowed them to stay in the game. A service error late deflated the Ravens and led to the loss with a score of 22-25.
The third set proved to be in favor of the Griffins when the Ravens went down 2-10 after 5 service aces. The final set ended with a score of 13-25.
Next up, the Ravens will take on Washington College (Md.) on Thursday, September 5 at 7:00 pm.
