Rosemont, PA- The women's basketball team faced Wilson College on Wednesday evening and won 61-60.
Rosemont trailed 14-11 after the first quarter. During the second quarter, the Ravens outscored Wilson College 18-12. Both teams struggled shooting the ball in the first half as Rosemont shot 32% from the field, while Wilson shot 31%. Rosemont out rebounded Wilson 26-22 in the first half.
Defense would continue to dictate the game in the second half as Wilson outscored Rosemont 14-12 in the third quarter.
The Ravens were aggressive and got to the free throw line several times, shooting 5-6 from the line in the third quarter.
Wilson College scored a layup to start the fourth quarter, but
Ke'alohilani Naone-Carter made back to back threes to give Rosemont a 47-42 lead. Rosemont would hold the lead for the rest of the game. Wilson had a chance to win at the end of the game but were unable to convert.
Jill Joyce scored 10 of her 14 points in the fourth quarter to propel the Ravens.
Naone-Carter scored a game high 31 points.
J'Nea Jenkins had a game high 16 rebounds for the Ravens.
Angel Ricks had 10 points and 8 rebounds.
The Ravens record is now 5-9 and 3-4 in Conference Play. Rosemont will look to extend their winning streak to 3 games when they go on the road to play Bryn Athyn College on Saturday, January 18
th at 1:00 PM.
