Rosemont, PA- The Colonial States Athletic Conference Board of Directors has announced that intercollegiate competition will be suspended for the fall semester as member institutions seek to ensure the health and safety of students, faculty, staff, and our communities amid the unprecedented challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference will make a decision about winter sports and the possibility of shifting certain fall sports to the spring semester by the end of September.
Â
No aspect of this was decision was taken lightly. The health, safety and welfare of student-athletes, coaches, staff and officials is a guiding principal at Rosemont College. The presumption of risk associated with fall athletic competitions became insurmountable.Â
Â
Rosemont College's fall sport sponsorship includes Men's and Women's Cross Country, Men's and Women's Soccer, Women's Volleyball and Men's Golf. As a result of this decision all scheduled competition for these teams has been suspended.Â
Â
"This is a sad day and I feel for all of our fall athletes. The idea of Division III athletics is a truly transformational component of the campus experience for our student-athletes. I know the Rosemont community will come together and support the students affected by this decision," said Rosemont Director of Athletics, Joe Pavlow.Â
