Welcome New Athletic Director, Dr. Phil Miller

Rosemont, PA-Rosemont Athletics is pleased to announce the hire of our next Director of Athletics. Dr. Phil Miller will take over as the lead administrator in our Athletics Department on May 9, 2022. The College brought four strong candidates to the final phase of the process, and what stood out for Dr. Miller is how much he knew about Rosemont, the questions he asked about where we are going as an institution, and how deeply he embodied the values and the mission of the College. His ability to identify potential areas of concern and being problem-solving with optimism and creativity is ultimately what I was most impressed with.

Originally from Philadelphia, Miller brings a resume of experience in college athletics spanning the Division I, Division II, and Division III levels. He is currently serving as the Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation at UC Santa Cruz, where he sits on the senior staff and is responsible for overseeing facilities, maintenance, and project management. Prior to his arrival in Santa Cruz, he worked in Longwood University's athletics department external unit as the Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities & Event Management, where he oversaw the operations of the Lancers' athletics facilities, game operations. He has also held leadership positions at East Stroudsburg University and Bucknell University.

A 2010 graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, with a BS in Health and Physical Education, Miller also has master's degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (M.S. in Sports Management) and Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania (M.S. in Criminology), and a doctorate from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (Ed.D. in Educational Leadership & Administration). We look forward to welcoming Phil to campus in early May.

"I am blessed and honored and extremely excited about this incredible opportunity. Since the start of this process everything about Rosemont College felt right and I can't wait to get started. I would like to thank Dr. Nash, the search committee and the campus community for their confidence in me leading Rosemont College athletics into the next chapter."

We are excited for Dr. Miller to take over the helm at Rosemont and see the new heights he will take our athletic department to!
