Nutley and Meisel Lead Ravens to First Win in Program History

Philadelphia, PA-The Rosemont Baseball team had their first career win in program history Wednesday, March 2nd at James Ramp Memorial Park against Penn State Hazleton with a 13-1 victory.

Offensively, FR SS Luke Franklin led the Ravens with 3 hits, 2 doubles, 1 RBI, 2 stolen bases, and 3 runs. FR RF Derek Shillingsford followed Franklin with 2 hits, 2 doubles, 3 RBIs, and 1 run. FR 3B Brage Davis had 3 hits, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs. FR 2B Samson Gerner hit the first triple in program history earning 3 RBIs. JR C Jake Meisel had 3 hits, 1 RBI, 1 stolen base, and 1 run. JR CF Dom Fernicola has 1 hit, 1 RBI, and 1 run. FR LF Julian Albanese had 1 hit, 1 RBI, 2 stolen bases, and 2 runs. FR Alex Ranauto earned 1 run. FR PR Connor Cook stepped in for 1 hit and 1 run.

Defensively, FR P Zach Nutley earned the first win for the Ravens with 72 pitches in the first four innings, faced 19 batters, 5 strike outs, only allowed 3 hits, and zero runs. After the game, Nutley offered up a quote after the game as first winning pitcher in Rosemont Baseball history, "We all played a great game today, we all played well, everyone did their part. Our lead off hitters really got us started with Luke, Brage, and Derek getting us on the board in the first inning with 2 runs. Jake Meisel had a great game blocking a lot of pitches for me. I also want to thank Coach T and all the other coaches for giving me the opportunity to play today." Following Nutley was FR P Justin Harrison who closed out the game with 47 pitches, 15 batters faced, 2 strike outs, only allowed 2 hits, and 1 run for PSU Hazleton.

JR Jake Meisel led the team with 7 outs and 1 assist who said "I want to give a big shout out to the pitchers who executed well and threw a lot of strikes. As a team, we scored a lot of runs. We're hoping to keep this winning streak going, continue to play hard, and we can only go up from here. Today was a good day!" Following Meisel was FR 1B Anthony Ranauto with 6 outs, FR 2B Samson Gerner with 3 outs and 3 assists, and FR RF Derek Shillingsford with 2 outs. FR SS Luke Franklin had 1 out with 2 assists, JR CF Dom Fernicola had 1 out, FR LF Julian Albanese had 1 out, FR P Justin Harrison had 2 assists, and FR 3B Brage Davis has 1 assist.

The Ravens celebrated their first win and prepared for their second match of the day against PSU Hazleton.
