The Rosemont Ravens (13-13, 5-5) dropped the opening game of the conference series to Valley Forge 17-7 at MapleZone Sports Complex on Friday, April 21
st. The visiting Ravens got on the scoreboard in the 4
th inning when first baseman
Ethan Wood tripled home
Jamen Palladino and
Colin McCormick. Center fielder
Connor Cook knocked in Wood two batters later. Another highlight for the Ravens' offense came in the 8

Luke Franklin opened the inning with a walk and sophomore
Nick Tanella entered the game and collected a single to right field. Junior
Sean Smith, who entered the game as the left fielder an inning before, delivered a homerun to left field to tally 3 RBI in one swing.
Junior
Ethen Otstott threw four strong innings in relief in his longest outing of the season. He allowed no earned runs (2 unearned), struck out three, and surrendered just two hits. Ravens' Head Coach
Ross Trachtenberg said after the game: "That was an excellent outing from Ethen today. He steadied the game for us and showed the mature type of pitcher he can be for our team. I am really proud of how he has developed this season after taking a full season off from baseball in 2022 after finishing his eligibility at his junior college (Prairie State College)."Â
The Ravens will play host to Valley Forge on Saturday, April 22
nd for a CSAC double-header at Heuser Park. Game 1 begins at 10am.
