Rosemont Ravens secured their first victory of the season in a 3-1 win over Valley Forge on October 5th. With the win, the Ravens improved to 1-12 overall and 1-2 in United East conference play.
How it Happened:
Rosemont came out strong, dominating the first set 25-9 with a .400 hitting percentage, but Valley Forge responded by taking the second set 25-14. The Ravens regained control, winning the third set 25-13 and sealing the match with a 25-11 victory in the fourth.
Fiona Hyland led Rosemont with 7 kills, while Madeline McCarthy and Pearl Smith added 6 and 4 kills, respectively. McCarthy and Jana Ehnot were key from the service line, each recording 8 aces, while Shenan Jackson added 5. On defense, Jackson and Smith led the team with 7 digs apiece.Â
Rosemont's head coach Erin Schuler praised the team's effort, stating, "This win was a long time coming, and each person on the team deserves this after the hard work they've put in. Onto the next."
