Rosemont Ravens secured their first victory of the season in a 3-1 win over Valley Forge on October 5th. With the win, the Ravens improved to 1-12 overall and 1-2 in United East conference play.

How it Happened:

Rosemont came out strong, dominating the first set 25-9 with a .400 hitting percentage, but Valley Forge responded by taking the second set 25-14. The Ravens regained control, winning the third set 25-13 and sealing the match with a 25-11 victory in the fourth.

Fiona Hyland led Rosemont with 7 kills, while Madeline McCarthy and Pearl Smith added 6 and 4 kills, respectively. McCarthy and Jana Ehnot were key from the service line, each recording 8 aces, while Shenan Jackson added 5. On defense, Jackson and Smith led the team with 7 digs apiece. 

Rosemont's head coach Erin Schuler praised the team's effort, stating, "This win was a long time coming, and each person on the team deserves this after the hard work they've put in. Onto the next."

The Ravens will look to carry this momentum into their next United East match up taking place October 9th, against St. Mary's College of Maryland.
