How it Happened:
Celebrating Senior Day, Rosemont recognized University of Valley Forge seniors along with Rosemonts' own Jon Altomare,
Tyler Howard, and
Fatayn Wesley. Rosemont would honor the seniors before the tip-off of the contest. The officials called a tight but very fair game for both sides as both sides knew they were playing for a playoff spot. Senior "Big Jon" Altomare got the scoring started for the Ravens, making a contested layup on the opening possession. Valley forge would respond with a run taking the early lead over the Ravens. Coach Hughes would make a lineup change, bringing the Ravens right back into the game tying the contest at 19 with 8:30 left in the first half. The Ravens would go on a run over the Patriots to end the first half, doubling their points to the start of the game while Valley Forge struggled with their offense. Ravens would lead at the half 39-29.
The second half, the Ravens got out to a hot start building their lead on the Patriots before they had a rally of their own pulling themselves back into the game. Rosemont would maintain their lead through the first half of the second half but Valley Forge would take the lead from the Ravens for a moment with four minutes remaining. Rosemont would answer with back-to-back-to-back 3 pointers on back-to-back-to-back possessions from
Denelle Holly (x2) and
Zaki Gomez, giving the Ravens a seven point lead over the Patriots with a minutes thirty remaining. Rosemont would hold onto this lead coming down the stretch holding Valley Forge and securing the Win 74-67 keeping their playoff hopes alive.
