The Ravens (2-9) took a tough loss at the hands of the Chargers from Lancaster Bible College (6-4) by a score of 21-6 on Tuesday, March 12th. The Ravens were led offensively by juniors Samson Gerner and Luke Franklin. Gerner went 4 for 5 on the day with an RBI and three runs scored and Franklin went 3 for 6 with 4 RBIs and a double. Sophomore Brandon Peake also contributed to the Ravens hit total going 2 for 3 with a triple. Other Ravens who contributed to the twelve hits for the offense were juniors Dom Younger, Jamen Palladino, and Nick Tanella, who each contributed a hit a piece. Palladino's hit being a double.
On the pitching side for the Ravens, junior Jimmy Rodier recorded 2 innings in relief while striking out four batters. Sophomores Patrick McCallister and Justin Gonzalez recorded scoreless innings with Gonzalez's being in his season debut. McCallister pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief on 1 hit with 1 strikeout. Gonzalez pitched 1 inning of scoreless ball with 2 hits and a strikeout. Junior Ryan McDonough also made his season debut on the mound for the Ravens pitching 1 inning allowing 2 hits a run while recording 2 strikeouts.
The Ravens look to bounce back on Wednesday, March 13th as they travel to Ursinus College to take on the Bears for one 9-inning matchup. First pitch at 3:00pm at Thomas Field.
