The Ravens (5-14) took a tough loss in today's non-conference matchup against the Eagles from Eastern (11-8).

Starting on the bump for the Ravens was junior Brett Angelillo who gave a strong performance for the Ravens. Angelillo pitched 4 innings of 4 hit ball. He also tallied 3 strikeouts in his longest outing of the season. Other pitching performances to be noted are juniors Justin Harrison and Jimmy Rodier and sophomore Chase Masten. Harrison tossed 1 inning of one-run ball allowing 1 hit. Rodier pitched 1 inning, throwing a goose egg on the board, while only throwing 11 pitches. Masten also tossed one inning of no-run baseball allowing 1 hit and notching a strikeout.

Offensively, the Ravens were unlucky and unable to string together a rally. Junior Luke Franklin led the way offensively, going 3 for 4 on the day with a double and a stolen base. Franklin also contributed to the Ravens' lone run thanks to heads-up baserunning. Junior Chris Walton also added to the Ravens hit total with a single. He finished the day going 1 for 2 with a walk.

"This was a tough loss after a strong team performance on Sunday," Head Coach Ross Trachtenberg said after the game. "It was encouraging to see Brett (Angelillo) have a strong outing on the mound and we had some really impressive defensive plays from Bobby (DiDonato) at third, Fern (Dominic Fernicola) in center, and Chris Walton behind the plate. Luke (Franklin) also had a great day at the plate."

The Ravens look to get back on the winning track Thursday, March 26th against Saint Elizabeth University in a 9-inning conference contest. First pitch 3:00pm at Heuser Park.
