WILMINGTON, DE ---- This past Tuesday the Rosemont golf team wrapped up their second tournament of the Spring at Dupont Country Club. This event included a field of thirteen colleges and universities and sixty-nine individual golfers. This is the second year that Rosemont has participated in this event at one of the premier courses in Delaware. Monday's round one tee times started at 8:00 AM with the second round starting after a small lunch break around 2 PM. Monday was a unique day to be playing with the solar eclipse reaching its darkest point around midway through the second round. However, it did not affect play. The third round of this event started Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM.
The field was a competitive one with the individual winner from Hamilton College taking home medalist honors at a score of 206(-7) and hosts Swarthmore College winning the team trophy with a three-day total of 871(+19) shooting even as a team in the third and final round. Rosemont finished in 13th as a team with Senior

Six strokes behind with a three-day total of 258(+46) was Aidan Rigney finishing in a tie for 52nd with a third-round score of 83(+12). Finishing 65th was Junior Aiden Sommers with a three-day total score of 292(+79) including a team-high five birdies throughout the two days. In 66th was Todd Berman shooting a three-day total of 296(+83).
Head Coach Joe Martin had this to say about the tournament, "The guys played hard and never stopped going. This course was tough with fast greens, some really tough pin positions especially in the third round, and deep bunkers surrounding the greens. We know what we need to focus on during this time in between tournaments and with one more to go before the conference championship we are looking to bounce back next week at Bloomsburg to put us in a confident position before the end of the month."
Next week the Ravens will be traveling to the Golf Course at Frosty Valley in Danville, PA to play in the Husky Invitational hosted by Division II Bloomsburg University. This event will be April 18th(Thu) and will be a 12PM shotgun start.
