WILLINGBORO, NJ ---- The Ravens men's golf team began their spring campaign on a cold and wet Easter Monday at Rancocas Golf Club. The team did not start the season how they wanted but battling a soggy golf course things were not made easy. Playing nearly the entire front nine in at least a light drizzle things did not begin well but as the rain lightened throughout the day conditions did become more favorable by the back nine. All four Raven golfers did make up strokes on the back but were not able to bounce back after a tough front. 

The field at the Scarlet Raptor Spring Invitational included nine colleges and forty-six golfers. Leading the way for Rosemont was Ryan Slee carding an 88 and finishing in a tie for 23rd. One stroke behind him finishing in a tie for 25th was Aidan Rigney. Junior Aiden Sommers carded a 92 in his Rosemont golf debut finishing in a tie for 32nd. Coming in fourth for the Ravens was Todd Berman with a 43rd-place finish carding a 97. Rosemont as a team finished in 9th place shooting a total of 366. 

Ryan Slee had this to say after the round "We just got a bad day to be out there. It was unfortunate weather and rough conditions on parts of the course with soggy tee boxes and pooling fairways however we will work hard this week in practice and come back better next tournament in a week." 

Ravens golf travels to Delaware next week to play in the Northeast Shootout hosted by Swarthmore College. This event will take place on April 8th (Mon) and 9th (Tue) at DuPont Country Club and will feature three rounds with two being played consecutively on Monday. Round one begins at 8:00 AM with round three starting at 10:00 AM Tuesday morning.
