Rosemont, PA| The Rosemont Ravens Women's Volleyball Team Welcomed the Keystone Giants to the Hirsh Community Center for an United East Matchup.
How it Happened:
Falling behind early in the first set (0-3),
Pearl Smith and the Ravens would respond with a kill followed by another point to bring the score within one. The Giants would score eleven straight versus the Ravens before the Ravens would put a stop with a few points of their own. The Giants would capture the first set 8-25.
In the second set, the Ravens would trail 0-6 to start but responded. Trailing 18-7, Jana Enhot and the Ravens would go on an eight point run to eliminate the Giants lead.
Pearl Smith had two kills in the run along with
Mya Hanford with one. The Giants would recapture momentum in the set as they would go on to win 18-25.Â
Rosemont did not give up in the final set,
Mya Hanford would lead off the set with a block to put the Ravens on the board. Keystone and Rosemont would go back and forth to start the set as the Ravens led 9-8 after a serving run by
Pearl Smith. Keystone would respond with a run of their own to take a 22-11 lead over the Ravens. Rosemont did not give up as they were able to rally for a few more points, but the Giants would win 0-3 in the Hirsh Community Center.
"We started a little slow, but as the match went on, we gained more confidence and played together. The coaching staff is so proud of everyone on the team and how we fought on the court today. We hope that we can take this into our next match." - Coach
