New Britain, PA| The Rosemont Ravens Men's Basketball Team Travel to Delaware Valley University to take on The Aggies in James Work Gymnasium.
Starting for the Ravens in New Britian: #1
Zaki Gomez, #2
Ty Jones, #3
Chris Taylor, #4
Brandon Moore, and #5
Robert Sukaly.
Coach McGee had the Ravens out the gates running as
Ty Jones opened up with a three assisted by
Zaki Gomez; followed by a steal and score from
Robert Sukaly. Stellar defense by the staring lineup held the Aggies offense early.
Zaki Gomez and
Brandon Moore kept scoring for the Ravens lead by five points through five minutes as both team made lineup changes.
Tyler Scarpulla foundÂ
Dallas Wilder for three coming off an Aggies turnover to extended the Rosemont to eight (15-7). The Ravens defense continued to work hard, forcing tough shots, creating a double digit lead seven minutes into the game after a Jaylyn Mason jumper. Delaware Valley would get hot, an eight nothing run brought them back within two before
Ty Jones found
Kobe Butler for three giving Rosemont a two possession lead. (20-15)
Rosemont would find themselves in foul trouble in the middle of the first half, as they were not able to throw the same defensive scheme at Delaware.
Robert Sukaly and
Zaki Gomez kept the Ravens in the game both having seven points in the half, trailing the Aggies by ten (29-39). Sukaly would keep the hot hand as
Brandon Moore would find him on a backdoor cut coming out the half. A small run by the Aggies extended their lead before
Zaki Gomez would get to the line to convert an and one for the Ravens giving them some momentum. Former Raven
Mike Herrin took that away with five straight forcing Coach McGee to make line up changes to attempt to slow down the Aggies offensive pressure. The Ravens continued to battle but failed to string stops together as their offense was unable to keep up through the second half. The Aggies defeated Rosemont 93-52 as The Ravens look to use this game as fuel, and put this behind them with a week of practice before their next game at home.
Leading the way for Rosemont was
Robert Sukaly with eleven points on 5-9 from the field in fifteen minutes, followed by
Zaki Gomez with ten and a perfect 3-3 from the line.Â
