Ravens Travel to Collegeville Taking on Ursinus Bears

Collegeville, PA| The Rosemont Ravens Men's Basketball Team Traveled to Collegeville to Take on The Ursinus Bears in D.L. Helfferich Hall.

Starting for the Ravens was #01 Zaki Gomez, #02 Ty Jones, #04 Brandon Moore, #05 Robert Sukaly, and #11 Jaylen Mason.

How it Happened:

Carrying momentum from the previous game, Rosemont forced a turnover on the opening possession as their defense shined early allowing Zaki Gomez to give them an early lead driving in for a layup. Jaylen Mason followed with another layup on a backdoor cut assisted by Gomez. Both offenses struggled through the first half as the Ravens trailed by six with thirteen minutes remaining. Tyler Jackson provided a spark off the bench for the Ravens offense scoring seven consecutive points, Rosemont trailed by seven after a Ty Jones free throw. The Bears three point pressure stunned the Ravens before would Rosemont climbed back to end the half with a three by Tyler Scarpulla and a jumper by Ty Jones cut the lead to nine. (31-40)

Coming out for the second half, turnovers were a problem for thr Ravens. Zaki Gomez would hit a nice three assisted by Mason, but a 0-12 run by the Bears gave them a twenty point lead early in the second half. Tyler Jackson came in, hitting a three to stop the bleeding. The Ravens did a good job of finding quality shots shooting 46% from the field, but lost the rebounding battle and 2nd chance allowing more chances for Ursinus to score. The Flocks momentum was shaken but not taken away as they fell to Ursinus on the road, having three players in double figures for the first time this season.

Leading the was for the Ravens was Tyler Jackson with 14 Points, followed by Zaki Gomez with 11 Points and 3 Assists, along with Ty Jones with 12 Points.
