How it Happened: Starting for the Ravens was #01 Zaki Gomez, #02 Bruce Black, #03 Kelton Warren, #13 Chris Taylor, and #30 Brian Mordi.
The Ravens fell to Bryn Athyn 70-59 in a United East match up on February 8th. The Ravens trailed the first half 40-25, and despite outscoring Bryn Athyn in the second half 34-30 they were not able to overcome their struggles from the first half in order to be able to win.Â
Struggling to shoot, the Ravens only made 37.1% of their shots, including 8.3% from the 3. On the other hand though the Ravens did however manage to out rebound Bryn Athyn 46-33. The Ravens also outscored Bryn Athyn off both second chance points 19-4 and points off the bench 39-13.Â
The Ravens offense had been led by Sophomore Dejuan Taylor, who had a team high 13 points with 5 rebounds. Senior Larry Lane contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds, and Sophomore Brian Mordi rounded out the top 3 contributors with 8 points and 12 rebounds.Â
The difference in this game was Bryn Athyn effective offense, which included scoring 42 points in the paint. The Ravens were able to stay in the game thanks to their strong defense, but it was hard to come back due to multiple mistakes.Â
