To our Rosemont College Athletes,  

I understand that yesterday's announcement regarding the upcoming merger of Rosemont College with Villanova has raised questions for many of you. I want you to know that we are committed to answering these questions with full transparency. 

This merger agreement was signed because it will secure the best possible options for the future of our students, faculty and staff.  This academic transition will start in 2027, and Rosemont's Division III athletics will transition to club sports following the end of the spring 2026 semester. 

This switch is necessary because Rosemont will not be accepting new students past October 2025. Therefore, it is not possible to make sure that we can field our teams adequately after next year. 

We understand that this news is not welcome, but it was important to inform you immediately so that each of you has as much time as possible to determine the best next steps for you. 

Rosemont will soon announce agreements with other Division III schools that will offer paths for fast, seamless transfers of Rosemont students. I will keep you updated on all information regarding those options. 

I recognize that each of you has unique circumstances and that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. We encourage you to stay in contact with your coaches and to reach out with any questions throughout this process.
