The Ravens Win Game 2 6-2
The visiting Ravens bounced back in the second game to capture the program's first win against Cairn. Errorless defense and terrific pitching limited the home team to single runs in the 1st and 7th innings. Junior Jack Lally started on the mound and went 6 innings while striking out four batters. Freshman Nick Fratangeli came into a first and second no-one out situation in the 7th and allowed just the one run to score. Fellow freshman Collin McCarron pitched a scoreless 8th and struck out one batter. Finally, sophomore Shane Lennon moved from third base to the mound to pitch a 1-2-3 9th inning to secure the win.
Lennon had a big game at the plate, going 3-4 with 2 RBI and a double. Senior captain Jamen Palladino also had three hits, one of which was also a double. The other two senior captains had great games as well. Bobby DiDonato had two hits, a walk, and scored three times, while Nick Tanella made a sliding catch in right field in the 7th to keep the game close.
Head Coach Ross Trachtenberg had this to say after the game: "I am just so proud of our team for the way they came back after the first game, waited through a rain delay, and got a win on the road at one of the toughest teams in our conference. We played really well in all phases of the game, and it was a total team effort to take home this Game 2 victory."
