Reading, PA| The Rosemont Ravens Traveled to Reading to Take on Penn State Berks in an United East Matchup at Beaver Athletics Center.
Starting for the Ravens was #01 Zaki Gomez, #02 Ty Jones, #05 Robert Sukaly, #11 Jaylen Mason, and #12 Tyler Jackson.Â
How it Happened:
Both teams came out the gate with a defensive mindset, forcing early turnovers and missed shots to start the game.
Brandon Moore would sub in to break the ice for the Ravens with a pull up jumper. Berks would lead by seven before
Chris Taylor got the the rim to make it a two score game. Rosemont would use the momentum to make it a one score game at the ten minute mark as
Jaylen Mason knocked down a three. The Ravens offense could not find a groove after the small run, Berks would build a double digit lead before
Zaki Gomez and
Ty Jones brought it back to single digits going into the half 16-24.Â
To open the second, the Ravens got the spark they were looking for on offense. Threes started to rain as Rosemont cut the Nittany Lions lead to five 27-32. Berks responded with a small run of their own to extend the deficit back to ten points. Coach McGee continued to keep fresh legs in for the Ravens through the second, as
Tyler Scarpulla cut into Berks lead with a layup. Coming down the stretch Berks would maintain their ten point lead over the Ravens as the defense could not find consecutive stops. Rosemont fell on the road to Berks 58-77.
