Rosemont, PA| The Rosemont Ravens Welcomed the Wilson Phoenix to Alumnae Hall to Start the Backend of Basketball Season. The Ravens will play the rest of their games in the United East Conference to close out the season.
Starting for the Ravens was #01 Zaki Gomez, #02 Ty Jones, #05 Robert Sukaly, #11 Jaylyn Mason, and #12 Tyler Jackson.
How it Happened:Â
Wilson won the tip scoring on the opening possession for the Phoenix. Rosemont's
Robert Sukaly would respond with a three to get the Ravens on the board and an early lead, assisted by
Tyler Jackson. A small run by Wilson gave them an early lead over the Ravens before
Brandon Moore would get to the basket for a layup. The Ravens continued to fight cutting into the Phoenix early lead as
Zaki Gomez scored five in a row. Defense was the story of the first half as both teams forced tough shots and turnovers for one another. Wilson would close out the first half on a 7-19 run forcing coach McGee to make some halftime adjustments.Â
In the second half the Ravens did a good job of forcing the rock inside creating paint touches and getting to the line.
Ty Jones would get the ball rolling with a three on a nice pump fake to get open, followed by a layup by
Robert Sukaly assisted by
Zaki Gomez. A 7-0 run by the Ravens would give the Ravens life as the continued to fight through the second half. Jaylyn Mason and
Tyler Jackson would each knock down three for the Ravens but Wilson continued to maintain their lead. Rosemont did not give up coming down the stretch playing hard until the buzzer sounded. The Ravens fell in Alumnae hall 49-78 to the Wilson Phoenix.

Zaki Gomez with 14 points and 8 rebounds.
