Rosemont Ravens Baseball Secures Sweep Over St. Joseph Bears

King of Prussia, PA| The Rosemont Ravens Welcomed The Bear of St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) to Upper Merion High School on a warm, overcast day. 

Sophomore Carson Pence took the bump for the Ravens in game one of the doubleheader. Pence recorded two outs early, but a double by the Bears would put them on the board early. Rosemont limited the damage to one, as Chase Masten chased down a pitch to catch a runner trying to take home. He followed reaching on an error to jump start Rosemont's offense. Joe Bentivegna ripped a double into left, scoring Masten. Caiden Spinelli came through for the Ravens with two down scoring Bentivegna and giving them an early lead.

Walks put Pence in a tough spot in the second as the Bears scored two and led by one. He would settle in though the fourth, as Gary Kroll turned the inning over with a single, immediately stealing second base. Spinelli walked, as Isaac Bugman did his job moving the runners over to second and third with one down. Tahj Wilson ripped a two RBI single into right to tie the game at four a piece. Larson Greenlee came in to start the fifth, he struggled a bit as the Ravens let in two runs.

Patrick McCallister came in for the sixth, starting off going one-two-three forcing soft contact trusting his defense behind him.
Turning to the seventh, McCallister held the Bears lead to two as Ryan Bowman gave the Ravens offense a spark, beating out an error by the pitcher. Coach Trachtenberg would bring in Terrell Robinson to run for Bowman, as Masten was hit by a pitch putting two one with no outs. Bentivegna singled up the middle loading the bases for Peake; he came through scoring Robinson and bringing Rosemont within one. Gary Kroll drive in another to tie it ith an RBI single, setting up Freshman Caiden Spinelli. Spinelli came through again for Rosemont, walking it off, driving in Peake for the Ravens win over the Bear 7-6. 

"I feel like we played very well as a team and everyone played a part in it. For example, when I get the game winning hit to walk it off, all of my teammates were there to cheer and support me. There were several times my teammates stepped up when needed. We played really well today like a family. And I can't wait to see what my family will accomplish throughout this season" - Caiden Spinelli

In Game Two Anthony Galli took the mound for Rosemont as they looked to ride the momentum from game one. Allowing two in the first, The Ravens had Galli's back as they loaded Brandon Peake loaded the bases with no outs, putting pressure on the Bears early. Kroll drove in a run, followed by Spinelli driving in another for the Ravens to tie the game at two.

Galli settled in the second and third, going one-two-three on the six batters he faced. Bentivegna continued to stay hot leading off the bottom of the third with a single, as Spinelli drove him in to give the Ravens a 3-2 lead after three.

Galli continued to work through the fourth, maintaining the Ravens lead before Justin Gonzalez took over to start the fifth. Gonzalez was sharp, forcing soft contact as the Ravens went back to work.

Masten and Bentivegna were hit by pitches, as Kroll drive in another run. Isaac Bugman and Spinelli followed with doubles, extending Rosemont's lead to five 7-2.
The offense continued to roll in the sixth as Masten and Bentivegna singled with two outs.
Brandon Peake would drive them in with a single, followed by another RBI single by Kroll to score Peake and extend the Ravens lead 10-4.

Soloman Denmark came in to close out the seventh for the Ravens. He was clean forcing soft contact and maintained the Ravens lead as they went on to sweep the Bears in the Sunday series.

What's Next? 
The Ravens will be back in action in a week, as they welcome Lehman College to Heuser Park for Alumni Day. First pitch will be at 12:00 PM March 15th. Roll Ravens!
