Box Score 2 The Rosemont Ravens closed out the 2026 season and their program on the road on Sunday, April 26th. Graduate student, James Rodier, started Game 1 on the mound. He pitched this final time in a season that he was very much responsible for making happen.
Last April, Rodier, who could not play due to injury at the time, called a team meeting to address the 2026 season. He started the rally among his teammates to play this final season of Rosemont Baseball.
Sophomore Carson Pence started Game 2 on the mound. Pence moved from a bullpen role in 2025 to a conference starter in 2026.
On the day, seniors Justin Gonzalez and Patrick McCalister also toed the rubber for the last time as Ravens. In the field, seniors Brandon Peake and Ryan Bowman played the outfield, while Chase Masten caught. Finally, senior Tim Shell was the designated hitter in Game 2. Shell was a three-year starting pitcher who suffered an early season arm injury that forced him into a DH role. He made the very most out of his senior season by committing himself to becoming a hitter so he could help his team compete on game-days.
Head Coach Ross Trachtenberg had this to say after the game: "Over the past 13 months since the end of Rosemont Athletics was announced these 22 players had every opportunity to play elsewhere, quit the team, or just take a day off. At no point did they take those easy options. They competed all season long and I could not be prouder of them all." He continued: "I want to sincerely thank the players and their families who have made Rosemont Baseball a reality over the last five years. Thank you for trusting me to be a part of your baseball and collegiate experience."
