2018 Men's Golf Champions

The 2017-2018 season for Rosemont Men's Golf marked the beginning of a dynasty for the College, as this was the first of four straight conference championships in the span of five years, the one year gap being due to COVID in 2020, where the team was forced to take the season off. This dominant stretch was one to remember, as golf has the most championship wins of any sport in Rosemont history.

Rosemont's success was built on a core group of players who consistently delivered strong scores throughout the season. Their starting lineup included Jordan Cook, Erik Diamond, Hunter Mickatavage, Michael Lange, and Stephen Vye. Reserves included Quentin Davis, Paul Fedele, Blake Ludwig, and Karsyn Wright. They were led by Head Coach John Manos, who was assisted by Devan Everett.

The regular season for Rosemont included a lot of success, but at the end of the day, it was all preparation for the conference championship. In the first invitational of the year hosted by St. John Fisher College in Baldwinsville, NY, the team took home first place, led by a standout performance from Erik Diamond. They then went through a lull period, but found their groove again, where they ended the fall season with two straight 2nd place finishes, one at Farmingdale State College, and the other one at Marywood University. Fast-forwarding to the spring, they competed in all types of events, ending with the Glenmaura National Invitational hosted by Kings College. The Ravens posted third place, propelling them into the CSAC championship just four days later.

The CSAC Championship, the defining event of the season, was a multi-round event against the other golfers in the conference. Rosemont ended up winning by a whopping 17-stroke difference between them and the second place team, which was Marywood University. The Ravens shot a total of 39 over par over a two-day stretch, with multiple standouts. The first standout was Jordan Cook, who tied as the first place golfer. He shot 7 over par, with scores of 75 (18 holes) and 37 (nine holes).  Next up was Erik Diamond, who shot 10 over throughout the event, as well as teammate Hunter Mickatavage. Michael Lange tied for 5th place with a solid +12 showing, and to round it out, Stephen Vye shot a 120 (15 over) to tie for 7th place. The Ravens held five of the top eight spots in the rankings for the conference, which propelled them to a conference victory.

The 2018 CSAC Championship not only marked a significant achievement for the Rosemont Men's Golf program, but also set a standard for future teams. Their victory was not the result of a single extraordinary moment, but rather the culmination of a season-long commitment to improvement, teamwork, and execution—hallmarks of a true championship team.
