Box ScoreALLENTOWN – The host Cedar Crest Falcons defeated the Rosemont women's tennis team this afternoon by a final match score of 8-1. The Ravens fell to 0-10 on the season (0-6 CSAC). The win moved Cedar Crest to a 6-8 overall record (4-4 CSAC).
The doubles matches proved to be key in today's match-up. The Ravens would lose all three doubles matches, but the #1 and #2 doubles matches were very closely played. In the #1 doubles, Asha Anderson and Kirsten Sanford were defeated 9-7. In the #2 doubles, Emily Javitt and Maddie Leonard were nipped 8-6.
With the Falcons taking all three doubles matches, it would be an uphill battle for the Ravens, as they would need to win five out of the six remaining singles matches. Ultimately, Asha Anderson won in the #2 singles flight to account for Rosemont's match point (7-5, 6-2).
The Ravens will play a rare doubleheader tomorrow when they stay on the road to play two CSAC matches. They'll start out with a 10am match at Keystone College in LaPlume, Pa. before taking the short trip to Baptist Bible to face the Defenders at approximately 1pm.
